Frequently asked questions
What does Stripe charge?
Stripe takes its commission directly from each payment, independently of my work. Current rates are published on their site; the setup and maintenance I bill are on top of that, not instead of it.
Is it compliant with European banking rules?
Yes. The strong authentication required by the European payment services directive is handled by Stripe and wired in from the start, including for recurring subscriptions.
Can I take payment on behalf of third parties?
Yes, with Stripe Connect — the marketplace and matchmaking-platform case. It is a heavier job than simple payment, quoted after we go through your payout model.
